I have been a bit slow getting my blog going but I am not going to make excuses.
Today I spent the morning in a science team seminar, where a group of scientists talked about the fantastic difference a great committed group of scientists can make, the type that are here at DairyNZ. I am always blown away by this fantastic group of hard working, committed and talented people, working well as a team.
I got some great inspirational quotes from this morning.
“The universe is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.”
Eden Phillpotts 1862-1960
Also learnt a bit more about Norm Borlaug, who was very important in agricultural and probably saved millions of people from starvation. Norm E. Borlaug (1914-2009) was a plant scientist who transformed global food production by developing high-yielding, disease-resistant wheat, which was credited for ending famine in developing countries.
Dr. Borlaug was one of only five people in history to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Congressional Gold Medal (an
honor shared by Nelson Mandela, Elie Wiesel, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King)
I’ll try and insert a photo, hang on! It worked.
I really like this one by Ziggy
“You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses”
Anyway all this has very little to do with me, except sometimes its good to listen and get inspiration from inspirational people.
